Legitimate Breakfasts

As can be well understood, there is a finite range of legitimate breakfast foods. Nobody is likely to suggest car tyres or old batteries are breakfast foods, yet some people suggest eating things that are clearly not for breakfast, in place of that most important meal.
At the Breakfast Food Council, we are embracing of global breakfast trends, and happily confirm congee, curry and other non-western breakfast foods are legitimate, however, we draw the line at “stunt” breakfasts such as fresh pizza, hamburgers or soup.

Below is the current list of legitimate breakfast foods, endorsed by the council. The council accepts applications for addition to the list from serious breakfast purveyors.
